A design of mould parting lock offers a simple and effective way of holding tool plates together, which is particularly appropriate for three-plate tooling.

To incorporate the parting lock into the tool, the resin sleeve is embedded approximately 3mm into the moving side die plate, while a hole with a suitable surface finish is made on the fixed side die-plate.
